Statistical Capacity

Statistical Capacity Indicator Dashboard

The Statistical Capacity Indicator (SCI) Country Dashboards provide individual country scores for the overall SCI average as well as for the 3 categories, i.e. Methodology, Source Data, and Periodicity. For comparison reasons, the dashboards furthermore provide respective average scores for IDA/IBRD countries as well as the regional scores.

By displaying time series the user is enabled to track progress countries made towards statistical capacity. All the background data can be retrieved from data query and API.

Note: Since the collection of the “Access to an improved water source” indicator was discontinued by the WDI in 2018, the SCI will now use the “People using at least basic drinking water services (% of population)” indicator instead, to measure the SCI’s access to water indicator, under the periodicity dimension. The previous indicator “Access to an improved water source” measured the percentage of the population that could obtain at least 20 liters per person per day from an “improved” source that was within one kilometer of the user’s dwelling. The revised indicator “People using at least basic drinking water services (% of population)” measures the percentage of people using at least basic water services. Similarly, the collection of the “Enrolment in Grade 3 of primary education, female (number)” indicator was discontinued by the EdStats in 2020, the SCI will now use the “Enrolment in primary education, both sexes (number)” indicator instead, to measure the SCI’s Enrolment reporting to UNESCO indicator, under the Statistical Methodology dimension.
